I have been a home brewer for less than a year.  I started with Mead.  I am 3 batches in, ending with Joe’s awesome orange.  My first batch was a mess that ended with a very potent lime flavored drink with little body.  This may take a year or two of aging.

 

My second attempt was at a spiced mead.  This I approached at a smaller volume.  It had some off flavors that are starting to mellow out 4 months later.

 

Then I wanted to try something I could drink sooner, A 5 gallon batch of cyser.  That’s hard apple cider.  This turned out more like an dark apple flavored ale.  But it’s tasty.

 

My next endeavor will be an more traditional English ale.
